The Garden Restaurant
It’s no co-incidence that Rothay Garden is renowned as much for its good food and wine as it is for the excellent hospitality and bedrooms on offer. The renowned Lake District restaurant at Rothay is one of only a handful in the area to have consistently been awarded two coveted AA rosettes.
Unlike a traditional hotel restaurant, the Garden Restaurant is an attraction in its own right, with its contemporary furniture, clean elegant lines and great views overlooking the hotel’s two acres of gardens. The hotel’s kitchens are managed by Executive Head Chef Kevin Semple alongside Head Chef Adrian Kneeshaw, who has been at the hotel for over 25 years.
Dishes are prepared using the freshest of regionally sourced produce, and we are proud of our unrivalled network of dependable and reliable local suppliers. Many of the hotel’s guests return two or three times a year and, for most of them, the Rothay Garden’s hearty Lakeland breakfasts, superb gourmet dinners and fine collection of wines are great attractions.
Welcoming our New Executive Head Chef to the team!
We are proud to announce the arrival of our new Executive Head Chef Kevin Semple (but for those of you who are regulars at Rothay we are proud to let you know that Adrian Kneeshaw is still with us as Head Chef)
Kevin comes to us with a vast amount of experience and is delighted to be able to offer his culinary delights here at Rothay.
Kevin started his career 22 years ago, as a pot wash in his local pub back home in Dumbarton. He has spent the past 10 years in the Channel Islands plying and developing his skills in various properties including Senior Sous in the 5-star Grand Hotel Jersey, in the neighbouring island of Guernsey, as Executive Chef of the 4-star Duke of Richmond, and their sister property of the 5-star Old Government House, where using fresh local produce was key and to the highest quality.
